The S.A.F.E.R. organization (Southern Area Fire Equipment Research) is seeking the support of Fire Service leaders in meeting its membership goal for 2011. The S.A.F.E.R. organization represents a broad cross-section of “stakeholders” in Firefighter Safety issues. Through S.A.F.E.R., representatives from local, regional, state and national fire service organizations have direct access to equipment manufacturers, vendors and workplace safety authorities such as Cal/OSHA, N.I.O.S.H. and N.F.P.A.
Membership in S.A.F.E.R. is an investment in your own agency’s “Safety Program”. As a “High Risk Employer,” participation in industry safety organizations is an essential part of a comprehensive Workplace Illness and Injury Prevention Program. S.A.F.E.R. conducts monthly meetings throughout the region “connecting the dots” between fire service resources to streamline equipment selection and to support standards compliance. Working “without geographic boundaries”, the S.A.F.E.R. organization acts as a “force multiplier” for your safety program by facilitating networking opportunities with other safety officers.
Membership in S.A.F.E.R. is open to all Fire Service members, fire equipment manufacturers and vendors. The organization is funded by annual membership dues only – we take no direct support from any private entity.
