S.A.F.E.R. is the dedicated forum for fire service individuals, agencies, and vendors to exchange information and coordinate fire equipment research.
Once a month, SAFER holds meetings at pertinent locations to provide the opportunity for fire service individuals, agencies and vendors to discuss information on specific topics. This information is also communicated to members through the publication of meeting minutes and other newsletters.
SAFER is designed to act as a mouthpiece for our member departments in the development of standards for firefighter safety, protective clothing and equipment. We offer input to state and national agencies such as CAL/OSHA, N.I.O.S.H., and NFPA - only through your experiences can we make these standards better for current and future generations.
Through SAFER, our members can work with manufacturers of equipment for the Fire Service on product research and development. Many of our vendor members have an active interest in the recommendations of firefighters to improve on current equipment, or develop new ideas.
